One victim shared that he met a woman through a dating app. She suggested they meet at a well-known pub. She ordered expensive drinks and shots for herself and her ‘friends’ who joined later. After a while, she disappeared — and he had to pay a bill of nearly ₹40,000!
Police say people should be careful when meeting strangers through dating apps. Always choose safe places, don’t agree to go to unknown clubs, and watch out for anyone who tries to make you spend a lot.
