Hyderabad: Cybercrime Unit Arrests 25 People in June, Helps Return ₹72 Lakh to Victims

In June, the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police arrested 25 people who were involved in different online scams. These criminals were cheating people using fake loan apps, part-time job offers, investment frauds, and by pretending to be customer care executives.

The Cybercrime Unit said that they have successfully helped refund around ₹72 lakh to people who lost their money to these scams.

Many victims lost money through fake links, phishing emails, and by sharing their OTPs or bank details with fraudsters. Police say people should never share bank information or click on unknown links.

The police are also working with banks and other agencies to track and freeze the accounts of fraudsters quickly. They requested everyone to report online frauds immediately, so that it’s easier to catch the criminals and get the money back.

The Hyderabad Police advised people to be careful when getting messages about easy loans, part-time jobs, or investment offers.

They said, “Think twice before trusting unknown people online.”
